Jobless claims another new pandemic

First-time filings for unemployment claims in the U.S. dropped to 310,000 last week, easily the lowest of the Covid era and The Labor Department said on Thursday that the country had taken a substantial stride back to pre-pandemic levels.
According to economists polled by Dow Jones, claims were predicted to number 335,000 for the week ending September 4.
The number for the week ending September 4 was down significantly from the previous week’s 345,000 and is now at its lowest level since March 14, 2020. Except for a small percentage of claims, they could have been far lower.
