Saif Ali Khan and Sidharth Malhotra are the only actors currently being considered for Race 4, the producers confirmed on Saturday, addressing a wave of speculation around the film’s casting.
In an official statement, Ramesh Taurani of Tips Films clarified that the upcoming fourth instalment of the Race franchise is still in the scripting phase, and no other actors—male or female—have been approached so far.
“We are currently in discussions only with Saif Ali Khan and Sidharth Malhotra for the next instalment of the Race franchise (Race 4),” the statement read. “We request the media and social platforms to avoid engaging with false news and to wait for official confirmation from our PR team.”
The statement comes amid renewed interest in the franchise, which began in 2008 with Abbas-Mastan’s Race, followed by Race 2 in 2013, both starring Saif Ali Khan. While both films were commercially successful and praised for their slick production and unexpected plot twists, Race 3—a spiritual successor led by Salman Khan—received mixed reviews despite strong pre-release buzz.
If finalised, Race 4 will mark Saif Ali Khan’s return to the franchise after over a decade. Sidharth Malhotra’s potential inclusion could also signal a generational crossover, adding a new dynamic to the long-running series.
The Race films have carved a niche in Bollywood’s action-thriller space, known for their ensemble casts, betrayal-fuelled plots, and glamorous visuals. While no director has been officially announced for Race 4, fans of the franchise are anticipating a return to its original style.
Saif Ali Khan was last seen in Devara: Part 1, a Telugu action-fantasy film. He is currently gearing up for the release of Jewel Thief: The Heist Begins, a Netflix thriller also featuring Jaideep Ahlawat, Kunal Kapoor, Nikita Dutta, and Ujjawal Gauraha.
Sidharth Malhotra, meanwhile, is working on Param Sundari, a romantic comedy co-starring Janhvi Kapoor. His recent credits include Yodha and Mission Majnu.
Taurani’s clarification aims to put an end to ongoing speculation, especially surrounding a potential return of Salman Khan, who led Race 3 but was never a part of the original story arc. The statement makes it clear that only Saif and Sidharth are in current discussions.
No release date has been announced yet, and the producers have indicated that the project remains in early development.
