India will sweat over Jasprit Bumrah, its skipper and spearhead, who retreated to the dressing room during the post-lunch session. Later he went to a hospital for scans and his fellow pacer Prasidh Krishna gave an update during a media interaction at the Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney on Saturday (January 4, 2025) evening.

“Yes, he had a back spasm, he had gone for scans, the medical team is monitoring him, so we will know whenever the medical team gets back to us,” Prasidh said.
With the fifth Test on the cusp of a result, Bumrah’s presence is essential for India to strive for a miracle on Sunday (January 5, 2024).
With 32 wickets so far in this Border-Gavaskar Trophy series, Bumrah is in red-hot form and has been the main threat to an Australian line-up nursing a 2-1 lead. It remains to be seen if he could turn up and scuttle the host’s chase as and when it happens.
